real life wednesday: Messy T

Wednesday, August 15, 2012 10 Comments

So, when I saw this idea over at Picklebums, I thought it was a fantastic concept!

So much so, I plan on trying to write a funny little ditty about my “real life” every Wednesday.  The concept as written by Kate at Picklebums, as she says it, is to, “ remember real life, with all the boogers and piles of washing… because there is beauty in the imperfect bits too.”  And I wholeheartedly AGREE 200%, the imperfect bits are what make it hilariously interesting ;)  So here is my first “Real Life Wednesday”, in all it’s glory! :)

I can’t wait to do this every Wednesday – soooo fun – I  ♥ ♥ ♥  this idea!

There once was a little boy named T,

he didn’t like to eat his cheese,

It started with one,

and ended up with a ton,

oh my, what a lovely mess he be!

LOL! Too cute!! This is a great idea. I wanted to let you know that the link to your post in your email update was not working for some reason. I had to go to your site’s home page. Weird… Usually the link does work though.

      Thanks Renee!

Ugh, I think I know why, I changed the link address after I already posted it & added the week date to the link so I can keep track of each week since they will have the same title. Man, wasn’t thinking, so sorry! Glad you found it anyway! Well, ya live & learn, huh?! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by today :)

No problem! I myself would want to know if something wasn’t working right. Like discovering my Good reads link doesn’t work for example. My brother checked my links one day months ago and found that all my internal links to About Us weren’t working! Yikes! I love your blog – you have so many great ideas.

Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives...not looking for flaws, but for potential.” - Ellen Goodman

🌟Potential. YESSSSS 🙌🏻 I really like this quote 🌟

🧐🔍Seeing the positive first is a great mantra to have when we tend to automatically gravitate towards things that are negative.

🪄Here’s to a bright 2021 and a purposeful positive outlook. 🎉

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!🌟🌟🌟 🤗 How did you HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!🌟🌟🌟

🤗 How did you celebrate the arrival of 2021?

🎲We played board games all night (cough cough surprise surprise 🤣) while munching on this charcuterie board.

🥳I surprised Eric & the kids by going all fancy for dinner last night. I wasn’t sure the kids would like the goat cheese (my favorite with fig spread 🤤) so I added some basic cheddar. But they LOVED it - I spread a little on one of the plain crackers with fig spread on top. So good!

🍈Fig spread, goat cheese, & 2 large crackers is from @wholefoods
🍇Grapes are from @costco (they have the best grapes!)
🪴Rosemary springs are from our garden.

Eeeeeep I’m so excited for my happy mail today!! Eeeeeep I’m so excited for my happy mail today!!🤗 (now if all my other mail I’m waiting on would arrive 🧐😩)

🦀🐙🐡I backed Open Ocean from @featherstonegames on @kickstarter this summer. It’s so incredibly neat to see a game come together from start to finish.

🐠🐟🐬This game is beautiful I can’t wait to sit to play with the kids as they become budding marine biologists.

He’s a little bit funky... a little bit rock n r He’s a little bit funky... a little bit rock n roll. - I’m kinda loving him though, my little abstract tree.🎄

🧵Right before my dad passed last year, during my last visit with him, he gave me this giant bag of these vintage-y wooden spools knowing that I’d use them in my art classes or some other creative way.

🧐As I was lesson planning this weekend the idea came to me when I peeked them in my wood craftin’ drawer - CHRISTMAS TREE!!

✂️I also have a simpler idea in mind with no wire bending/cutting to try it in my art classes as a kinda ‘extra’ project for early finishers. Stay tuned!

Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽 I’m grateful th Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽
I’m grateful this Thanksgiving for my Dad ❤️

📖📖📖When he was alive I’m not sure I appreciated this book as much, but now that he’s gone it’s made me appreciate him even more that he took the time to catalog all our family recipes into two cookbooks for us to have.

🦃🍁🍂This Thanksgiving without my mom joining us (she’s with friends this year) I was without her traditional treats like my favorite Pumpkin Cheesecake.

💪🏻So I attempted that (my first cheesecake EVER!) and Tussies (mini pecan pies) from scratch using my families recipes. I’m so excited to dig in today and the whole time making them made me feel extremely #grateful for my Dad & all he did for his family. 💕
