Live In The Sunshine - Graphic Subway Art Print | Mama Miss #summer #subwayart #beach #Emerson

♫ We’re going to the beach, the beach, the beach ♫ (argh – that silly song from The Wonder Pets will never-ever leave my head – will it?!)

But, we really did go to the beach last weekend – me, the kiddos, & my parents!

It was glorious fun…well, until an hour after…when my back reminded me I had forgotten to put sunblock on myself – ouch!  I remembered the kiddos, of course, I didn’t miss a beat there, they are still as pale as ghosts.  But me on the other hand – yep – epic fail – my back is now currently itching like crazy from the aftermath of MY SEVERE SUNBURN!  You may or may not find me moving my bra, up & down and back & forth, as a back scratcher…just saying.  haha – not that I’m doing that – but it’s a great idea – right?!

And, my two little monkeys couldn’t be more different – T will not, under any circumstances, go near the water (and barely even got on the sand for that matter).  V, well she’s my little water baby, I had to stop her from pretty much running into the ocean at full force!

Well, after our beach weekend it got me thinking about the fact that I haven’t made a beach print for this year!  And we can’t use last year’s…so passé.  So, here’s a fancy new one for this year for ya!

oh & funniness about this print – I printed it out & V asked what it said.  I read it to her & she cracked up laughing (rolling-on-the-floor-holding-her-belly-laughing) at the last phrase – “drink the wild air”.  Just try explaining this phrase to a 3 1/2 year-old & you’ll laugh too ;)  The conversation lasted all night – even veered into the direction of explaining liquids & solids – hehe.  But hey, it was a science & literature lesson, right?! :)

Have a beautiful sunshine-y week friends!!

A few years back, we went to the ocean beach with a couple of our kids and their families. One of the grandsons just loved the water and we had to keep a close eye on him so he wouldn’t be taken out to sea. His brother was so scared of the water that he would turn and run when a wave came up close to him on the beach. We thought we had him far enough away from the water that he would stay dry and could play in the sand. But a wave came up on the beach and was so close to him anyway. He jumped up running and crying. It was pretty funny seeing him run like that, even though he was so scared! At least we didn’t have to worry about him going in too deep!
