Instagram post 2195977294148231019_32467487 It’s the most wonderful time of the year 🎄⛄️🌟 #christmastime #andywilliamschristmas #gingerbreadhouseday #apeekintoourhomeschoolday #letthemlead #homeschool365
Instagram post 2173022505546348056_32467487 So, I have this crazy strategy for schoolwork I’ve been using lately that has been working really well so I’m running with the idea - conquering a new board game before schoolwork. 🎲📚 Getting their brains fired up for the day through learning a new game has them flying through their schoolwork pretty much effortlessly - wooooot!!! 🤫🤩🤗 The new game choice today was V’s and she chose LineUp. It was also a great game choice to conclude her detective badge she just earned in Girl Scouts this week! 🔎🗝🕯🔦 Memorization was the main focus with a little strategy thrown in. These two are really good at memorizing specific details - they were tough competitors.
Basically you travel around to different “crime scenes” and pick a guilty suspect (the top card), look at their card (which shows their face) for 5 seconds to memorize their features, and then in your next turn you travel back to the “police station” to do a line up. In theory this can take a couple of minutes to get back to the station, but can take a lot longer depending on what the other players choose to do during their turn which kinda makes you forget some of those features you just memorized lol. Then, when you get eventually get back to the “police station” you request a lineup with your suspect & anywhere from 2-9 other suspects (depending on where you are in the game) in your lineup that look identical to your suspect with only a few very slight changes to tell them apart. To win the game you need to capture 4 criminals at the crime scene & identify them correctly in the lineup.

Overall a fun game that we’ll definitely play again. ✅ #gameschoolers #boardgamesareourjam #homeschoollife #vahomeschoolers #thisishowwehomeschool #notsponsoredwejustlovegames

Instagram post 2108219129575255302_32467487 The paper crane is a symbol of hope and healing. My dad taught me how to make these paper cranes when I was little and I taught all our friends & family last night. Our grieving is processed in the joy we share with Dad stories and making these paper cranes to remember him. #loveyoudad
