So…

he’ll ask for a glass of milk.

And chances are if he asks for a glass of milk, he’s going to want a cookie to go with it.

Well little mouse, I’ll get you that cookie.  Several of them :)

We’re back this month with Virtual Book Club for Kids, and the featured books for our April author of the month Laura Numeroff, are: If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, If You Give a Pig a Pancake, & If You Give a Moose a Muffin.

We selected If You Give a Mouse a Cookie as our “craftin’ ready” book!  It’s one of V’s favorite books and the source of her “craftin’ idea”.

Lately, V is all about her American Girl dolly and pretend play with her.   I even found her a little AG Wheelchair and First Aid Kit at a recent consignment sale – mama winning!!  Love great deals.

Well, since dolly has been fighting the good fight with all her injuries, and we’ve been wheeling her in & out of the hospital (she’s had a cast removed & another one added, her finger’s been broken, her wrist sprained) we decided to cheer her up with some fresh baked cookies.  Poor girl, she was falling apart, and we figured Mr. mouse wouldn’t mind sharing some of those cookies!

What you’ll need to make these DIY Pretend Play Cookies:

  • 6 – Unfinished Wood Round Discs, 2-3/8-Inch
  • Silicone Cookie Spatula
  • Quick Dry Tacky Glue
  • 8.5×11 white cardstock
  • Scissors
  • Printer
  • optional: small 6×9 box to hold your Pretend Play Cookies
  • printable cookie toppers & oven mitt

How to make these DIY Pretend Play Cookies:

  • Print out the freebie printables on cardstock.
  • Cut out the cookie toppers & oven mitts with scissors.
  • Glue the cookie toppers to the wooden discs.
  • Glue the two halves of the oven mitt together.
  • Let dry.
  • PLAY!

These cookies have made all the difference to dolly’s recovery.  Plus, they are super easy to make & perfect for a little pretend play to accompany the book of the month, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie.
